The Island and beyond
Mersea Island is made up of two parts. East and West. We are based on the west side. Placed by a large grassed area that has a play park and a restaurant. There is also a cafe close by.
We have a lovely view of the colourful beach huts and direct access to a beach.
The park has a laundry room available for the guests to use if needed.
On the west side, you can enjoy boat trips, long walks or shopping in local independent shops. Visits to the church, library or the lifeboat station.
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from too.
On the East side you can enjoy a day at Cudmore Grove County Park. Where you can take a walk in the woods, play in the large playground, make use of the large play field or stroll along the rugged beach.
They have a small kiosk offering drinks and ice cream. Parking available for a fee.
With over 102 acres there's plenty of room for everyone!
On the East side, you can also find county pubs and a vineyard!
OFF THE ISLAND...
Colchester itself has a lot to offer if you're wanting to get out and explore more.
COLCHESTER ZOO... Besides the animals they have an indoor play-area lots of outdoor parks and a nature walk. They also have lots of events and zoo experiences all throughout the year
COLCHESTER CASTLE... Soak up some local history. An interactive castle that also offers guided tours. The Castle has events and activities throughout the year.
CASTLE PARK... Have a walk around the beautiful Castle park. With a boating lake, tearoom, mini golf and a fantastic play park and sandpits, it's definitely worth a visit.
LEISURE WORLD & AQUA SPRINGS... Leisure World is family water fun! With pools, slides and rapids, there's something for all the family. Aqua springs is for anyone that's 16+. With spa treatments, steam room, salt room, pool and more.
BETH CHATTO'S PLANTS AND GARDEN... Beautiful garden all year round. A lovely place to take a walk around, learn about the garden and plants. They do workshops and events throughout the year. They have a tearoom and gift shop. You can also buy some plants.

* How many people can we have at the accommodation?
A. The accommodation sleeps six. However, if you book less than six people you can not invite others to stay. There may be room but insurance only covers us for people mentioned in the booking.
* Can we bring our pet/s?
A. Sorry but no. We love animals, but unfortunately we can't have them to stay over.
* Can we have our stag or hen do there?
A. We like a party as much as the next person. But unfortunately we can not accommodate this sort of stay over.
* Is it smoke free accommodation?
A. No smoking (or vaping) is allowed inside the home. Feel free to go outside, we even have a heater to keep you warm out there .
* Do we need to bring towels or bedding with us?
A. All bedding is provided. A bath sheet and hand towel pp is also provided.
